Important: The customer must sign the rental agreement at the time of pickup.
1. Responsibility for the Equipment
The renter agrees to return the bike and its accessories (helmet, locks, etc.) in the same condition as when they were provided. Free Wheel will assess the condition of the equipment at the end of the rental, reserving up to 72 hours to report any additional damage. In the event of damage, theft, or loss, the renter will cover the costs of repair or replacement.
2. Deposit
A €100 deposit per bike is required and will be returned at the end of the rental once the equipment’s condition has been checked. This deposit covers possible faults, damage, or failure to return accessories.
3. Returns and Refunds
No refund will be issued for returning the bike early. Late returns will incur an additional charge according to the established rate.
4. Public Liability Insurance
The rental does not include damage cover; the renter is responsible for any material damage or personal injury that may occur. Free Wheel provides public liability insurance to cover damage caused to third parties.
5. Safety Rules
The renter declares they are in suitable health to use the bike and that they know the traffic rules. They also agree to wear a helmet at all times and to ensure they respect pedestrians and vehicles.
6. Charges for Specific Damage
Specific charges will apply for damage or faults in bike components. Examples:
- Irreparable tyre replacement: €39
- Brake damage: €39 (disc), €49 (caliper)
- Drivetrain repair due to impact: €19
- Other charges may apply depending on the repair cost
7. Cancellation Policy
- More than 48 hours: 100% refund
- Between 24 and 48 hours: 50% refund or reschedule
- Less than 24 hours: no refund, reschedule only
- In cases of force majeure (e.g., adverse weather conditions), the booking may be postponed or refunded depending on the situation
8. Theft or Loss of the Bike
In the event of theft, the renter must pay the price of the bike, determined according to the model and current market value.
9. Pick-up and Return Times
Bikes must be collected and returned within Free Wheel’s opening hours. Extended rentals must be arranged in advance.
